Gionee is a China-based electronic company established in the year 2002 and has launched several budget friendly Android smartphones. Among them being the P5Mini, P5W, P7, F103Pro, F205LITE, F205, M6LITE, S6S, S11LITE, X1S and the latest the F9 Plus launched in 4th September 2019. Other products by Gionee are the Gionee Smart 'Life' Watches, Headphones, earphones, neckbands and powerbanks.
Away from all that -- I have been looking for the Gionee shop since last year and I thought (after checking online with no good luck) that its between Ngong road Prestige Junction and Yaya Centre but noooo, last weekend I found them and definitely not around anywhere there...

I have a faulty Gionee P5W which is working but would turn off anytime during use or even refuse to turn on and because my Infinix Note 3 got stolen the P5W is my only good backup smartphone. When it fell the screen cracked then started going off whenever it feels like which was super annoying. To cut the story short I met a good guy at the front desk, told him about my phone and gave it him then he said they will work on it and call me as soon as the phone has been repaired.
At the Gionne Care Shop I got to know of some things which I would like to share...

Gionee Smartphone Warranty Conditions:

GIONEE CARE, Kenya, warrants all Gionee products and accessories against defects in materials and workmanship when used normally in accordance with products published guidelines.

The warranty period starts from the date of purchase and is valid for 12+1 months and ONLY extends to the original (first) purchaser.

The warranty for product and accessories is as follows:

• Handset  -12+1 months
• Battery - 6 months
• Charger/USB cable - 3 months

Warranty Requirements:

For warranty to be affected, the ORIGINAL purchaser receipt must be produced.

IT SHOULD CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING:

1. Date of purchase.
2. Client Details.
3. Product model and IMEI number.

THE LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:

• Damage used by using the product outside the published guidelines.
• Defects caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to normal ageing of the product.
• Software upgrades or downgrades performed by anyone who is not an Authorized Service Provider.
• Any liquid damage, traces of liquid or otherwise, accident, misuse, Electrical Surges, fire or external causes.
• Tamper or service performed by Unauthorized Service Provider.
• Damage caused by using Non-product accessories.
• Cosmetic damage, including but not limited to Scratches, Dents, Bends and Broken parts.
• Any product submitted for service without the Original receipt.

NOTICE:

Service Period is 3 to 5 working days after the Product has been submitted for service.

My P5W warranty period had passed one year ago so I had to pay for spare parts costs of out of warranty handsets.

Gionee Care Shop is located on the 2nd Floor of Corner House which is the first building along Kimathi Street just next to the Kimathi Monument opposite Hilton Hotel. They also repair and service Redmi smartphones. 

IMPORTANT ARTICLE UPDATE: Sorry guys, Gionee Care Shop closed their Nairobi Service shop in 2020 but you can visit any Xiaomi (Mi) shop and check if they can fix your phone or if in Nairobi check Xiaomi shop at Giwa House between Murang'a Road and Nyakach Ln off Moi Avenue opposite KCB Bank and Clarion Hotel.
