List of Smartphones compatible with JTL Faiba4G and how to configure Faiba4G [Updated]

Our last article we talked about the entry of JTL's Faiba 4G network in Nakuru, Kenya and that they were offering their SIM cards for free. That offer is over, now you can get the SIM card for Ksh. 300 which at least comes with 3GB Data bundle of 7 days. Here's the list of smartphones that have made the cut and how to configure your compatible smartphone...

Smartphones fully compatible with Voice and Data

Smartphones only compatible for Data 

  • APPLE IPHONE 7, IPHONE 7 PLUS, IPHONE SE, IPHONE 6, IPHONE 6S and IPHONE 6S PLUS
  • ASUS ZENFONE 3 and ZENFONE 2
  • BLACKBERRY DTEK 60 and DTEK 50
  • HTC ONE A9S and HTC M9.
  • OnePlus 5 and 5T.
  • HUAWEI P8, 9, 9 LITE, 9 PLUS, NEXUS P, NOVA, NOVA PLUS, ASCEND MATE 7, MATE 8, MATE S and MEDIA PADS

Note: The above list is according to the list given by JTL and they say it can change at any time meaning some smartphones can refuse to accept the settings and others can be added too to the list. From me I say if your smartphone is 4G LTE compatible, try it out and see if it will work AND ALWAYS CHECK ON US TO SEE IF WE HAVE UPDATED THE LIST. See how to configure below.

How to configure your smartphone

First and foremost, Dual SIM users make sure JTL SIM is on SIM 1 for the settings to go through. Okay now lets start...


Step 1 - Click on Settings in your phone then select more.
Step 2 - Under More select Mobile networks.
Step 3 - Under Mobile networks options select Access point names and make sure you have selected 4G recommended on the above setting on Preferred network Type.
Step 3 - On Access point names you will see the ones you have been using that was added automatically, now click on the + icon to Add another APN.
Step 4 - Input the settings as shown below.

Name:               Faiba4G
APN:                 faiba.co.ke
