Android N is officially Android Nougat

It is not a mystery anymore! Google has finally revealed the name of its much-talked about Android N. The ‘N’ stands for Android Nougat.

The search engine giant took to Snapchat for unleashing the name of the latest version of Android, will now go by Android Nougat. The announcement comes after the company said at Google #IO16 last month that users could submit suggestions for the name online.
Android N initially announce at Google #IO16 earlier this year its currently on its second (and mostly stable) beta, brings new features like an improved notification shade and split-screen multitasking to the mobile OS, while also improving on features like Doze that came with Marshmallow last year. The release also has Daydream, Google's new VR platform, though it'll only be supported by Daydream-ready handsets running the OS. Though Google has not yet revealed the version number of Android Nougat but most likely it might be version 7.0 as Marshmallow is version 6.0.

Interestingly, Google has also installed an Android Nougat statue on the lawn of its Mountain View, California headquarters. The established figure of Android Nougat at the Google headquarters looks exactly like the one in the image above.

Congratulation to Lauren Goode Editor at & co-host of Too Embarrassed to Ask on Radio who has a Cat named Nougat for the awesome win.
