Android TV Remote App not Connecting [Solved]

 Android Smartphone Remote App cannot find Android TV device...




There are so many Android TV remote apps on Google Play TV Store and phone Store, by now if you are an Android TV owner am sure you have seen the different features they have individually. However, whichever one you are using, the way it connects to the Android TV is the same. Today. let's know the ways to fix remote connection problem between the app and the TV.

Via WiFi

Your Android phone has to be connected to the same WiFi network connected to your Android TV. Open the App in your phone, and let it search for the name of the TV if found click on the name then a code will appear on your TV screen. Type in the code and click enter or Ok and your remote App will be good to go. If the app doesn't find the TV name or you can't see your TV name in the list then follow option 2. (follow option 2 if you had a connection before and couldn't find TV later)

Cannot find TV

Here, much is to be done but for a start let me explain to you why the app is not finding your Android TV even if you are connected to the same WiFi. Recently, Google updated the 'Android TV Remote Service' app which helps in the connectivity of any remote app from the phone with the TV. Due to this new update the TV remote apps including Google's own Android TV app cannot find TV to connect with.
To resolve connectivity issue on Android TVs, follow the below steps:

1. Go to Settings on the TV.
2. Select Apps on the drop down menu.

3. Select Android TV Remote Service, if not available scroll down and select More Apps and Select Show System Apps

4. When you find it, select Uninstall Update. 
5. After update uninstall ends open the phone app again, it will connect.

Until Googlev LLC resolves that update issue we will have to be uninstalling the update whenever connection is not found because the TV automatically updates everyday.
