#MulikaUhalifu Security System

Have you ever been mugged? Robbed? Sexually assaulted? Do you know of a child molester? Rapist? Do you know anyone selling alcohol to minors? Have you ever witnessed a crime and did not want to go to the police station to report it?

Am sure you must have felt frustrated? helpless? Angry? Afraid? It is said;

"In every crime, there is someone with crucial information that can aid investigations."
Through the SMS code 22068, from most of the Counties in Kenya you can now text in your information either as a victim or a witness to a crime.
In a meeting with Nakuru bloggers, Mr. Joshua Nkanatha Nakuru County Commissioner said once your text has been sent it will be forwarded immediately to 5 security chiefs in your county namely; The County Commissioner, The County Police Commander, The County Coordinating/County Administration Police Commander, The County Criminal Investigation Officer , and National Intelligence Service. Together with them also other committee members under the officials will also receive that message amounting to more than 50 security officers getting that same message and ready to act on it.

With only Ksh. 1 airtime in your phone, any report you want to reach the Police, you can now get it to the without fearing being followed. To send a text, begin with the county name (very important) then proceed to give the information. Your number will be concealed when the texts are forwarded for action.

The online portal is also available for complete anonymity where you can key in your information and omit your contact details.

The Product Developer and Founder of Mulika Initiative Ms. Grace Wanjohi under Business Integrity Africa (BIA) which came up with the idea said she developed the system for three years with the help of security agencies. Ms. Grace Wanjohi has been working closely with County Commissioners in Kenya and have now managed to launch it in many other Counties like Baringo, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kisumu, Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, and Kericho.

Meeting with Ms. Wanjohi she said that most people have a lot of information regarding crime but they do not know where to report the same for the right action to take place. I do agree with that because one time my house was robbed and I didn't have people to approach and there was so much information out there from other residents with no one to tell. #ItStartsWithYou
